Associations is a series of artistic and architectural creations that are sculptures and at the same time small functional objects located along the left bank of the Vistula river in Warsaw.

The employment of concrete as building material and parks as space for the realization of the project refers to the common description of Warsaw as the city of green and grey. These artistic interventions aimed at the public impulse, placed in a rich, natural and lush space are meant to evoke feelings associated with the combination of the two elements: nature and culture.

Concrete gives to the designers – architects and artists alike – an almost unlimited freedom of creation. Today commonly regarded as a tool and object of interest of engineers, concrete used to be a test ground for such creators and artists as Le Corbusier, Carlo Scarpa, or Tadao Ando. We invited some excellent artists and architects to prepare projects especially envisaged for Associations. Four of them – works by Maurycy GomulickiJakub WoynarowskiŁukasz Jastrubczak, and Jan Sukiennik – were successfully realized.
